This year, we proudly celebrate the 8th anniversary of the Birmingham Pride History Archive! Since its inception in 2017, our archive has been dedicated to capturing the rich and vibrant history of Birmingham Pride and the wider LGBTQ+ community. Through detailed reports, photographs, and first-hand accounts, we have documented every Pride event and LGBTQ+ gathering in our fabulous city, ensuring that our history is preserved and celebrated.

Over the years, our archive has provided deep insight into the origins of Birmingham Pride—how it started, it’s founders, and it’s continued operations. We have highlighted the evolution of Pride, the struggles and triumphs of our community, and the significance of these events in shaping a more inclusive and accepting society.
Of course, no journey is without its challenges. Recently, we have faced obstacles, including bad actors attempting to take our domain name. However, we remain steadfast in our mission.
We extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who has contributed, supported, and engaged with our archive over the years. Your passion and dedication have made this project what it is today, and we can’t wait to continue this journey with you.
The archive is undergoing some maintenance, we’re getting ready to re-open the archive shortly!
